I want that turkey! Cheers! It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As most of you probably know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I once went to a press event about breast cancer and the speaker said, “If you don’t know someone who has had breast cancer, you will.” It affects that many women. So, I love that YumSugar is promoting the awareness with a fun giveaway—that I just entered, of course. Riedel is giving away three sets (that’s six glasses) of a special, limited edition Pink Vinum Rosé glass. They’re really pretty and they have a soft pink stem (in honor of the pink ribbon, I’m assuming). Considering my current wine glasses are from Pier 1 (and were under $1 each), and I stupidly bought 3 red and 3 white wine glasses (WHY? Why did I do this?), I really need some new stemware!

A Feel-Like-a-Kid-Again Giveaway

If you know any little kids, this book is super fun. I’ve been skimming it for the past week now, and I love it! I can totally see the 10-year-old version of myself putting on a fancy apron and ordering my mom around the kitchen. I just entered another giveaway from Hostess with the Mostess—you can win a $100 gift certificate to Cocktail Vibe and pickup a bunch of really cute cocktail glasses and bar gear. I’m not really a cocktail girl (other than margaritas), but I could become one! And I did just check out Rayuela the other week where I ordered one of their “Coming Up Roses” cocktails—real rose petals in a glass of champagne, rose water, lime juice and Bacardi Razz (soooo expensive, and thus I only had one). Overrated, I think. Or overpriced. Or both.
